Editorial Policy

Our commitment to accuracy, transparency, and expertise in everything we publish about roofing insurance claims.

Who Writes Our Content

Every article on PerilBridge is written by a credentialed industry professional. We require subject-matter expertise matched to the content topic:

  • Insurance coverage content — authored by a licensed public adjuster or insurance-licensed operator with a state PA license or producer license.
  • Hail and roof inspection content — authored by a HAAG-certified inspector (HCI-R or HCI-C).
  • Roofing production content — authored or reviewed by operators experienced with material ordering, permitting, crew scheduling, supplements, and closeout.
  • Estimating content — authored by a Xactimate Level 2 or 3 certified estimator.
  • Carrier-side content — authored by a former carrier or TPA claims executive with CPCU, AIC, or SCLA designation.

Who Reviews Our Content

All content undergoes a two-layer review before publication:

  1. Technical review — A second credentialed professional in the same discipline reviews for accuracy, completeness, and current industry standards.
  2. Editorial review — Our editorial team reviews for clarity, readability, and compliance with our style guide.

Articles about AOB (Assignment of Benefits) and deductible waiver topics receive additional review by senior legal counsel. Denied-claim content is reviewed by a licensed public adjuster.

Fact-Checking Process

Our fact-checking process ensures every claim is verifiable:

  • Statistics and data points are traced to primary sources (carrier filings, NOAA data, IBHS research, state DOI bulletins).
  • Legal and regulatory claims are verified against current state statutes and carrier policy language.
  • Product and material claims are verified against manufacturer technical data sheets.
  • Pricing references are updated quarterly using current Xactimate price lists and regional labor surveys.

Correction Process

When we identify an error in published content — whether found internally or reported by a reader — we follow a transparent correction process:

  1. The error is verified by the original author and a technical reviewer.
  2. The article is updated with correct information.
  3. A correction notice is appended to the article with the date and description of the change.
  4. The correction is logged on our Corrections page with the date, affected page, and explanation.
